The students went to the Halle aux Sucres, a former sugar warehouse which has now become a learning center where people/students can learn about garbage, food, wastes. The students were divided into four groups of 16. Two of the groups worked on food and how we can prevent food waste the other two groups worked on recycling wastes and rubbish. The entire workshop developed in the form of an interactive talk between the students and the guide. They answered some questions and discussed about how wastes are managed into different countries, about how important it is to avoid having lots of them and we could all contribute to more conscious use of things so as to avoid too much rubbish and wastes. The students proposed different solutions to avoid having too much waste or how we can reuse it. The students saw the Giveboxwhere people can take objects they don’t need any more and somebody else can take it for free. Then the task the students are given is to think of 2 ideas to help people reuse objects, like the Givebox, or proposals on how we can avoid wasting food. Then each group had to prepare a speech for one idea and also have a two slides power point presentation, one containing a sentence in English summarizing the idea and the other slide containing some representative pictures. At the end of the workshop all the students presented their ideas to their colleagues and teachers.
