The English, French and Spanish students were divided in two groups (mixed nationalities), A and B. They were given a city quiz with eight questions they had to complete during the tour. At the end of the quiz there was a map of Dunkirk city centre and gaps to place the eight landmarks. A French teacher guided the group, offered some explanations of each landmark and gave time to complete the quiz. The French-Spanish couples had to write down the questions in English; the French students were translating the information they found in the panels and the Spanish were writing them down in English. In the French-English couples, the English students had to write down the information in French.
