The Project City Bees give bee populations a helping hand, help pollinate our world, and produce some of the cleanest honey around. This Eco village lives together with social interaction 30 years ago. People bought houses in landscape to start to get fit and open school with kinder garden. A food bank was opened with the goal to reduce wastes and buy rice pastas in big barrels. They keep and disseminate Slovak traditions

This Farm proposes to European volunteers to take part in 4 workshops (How to cut grass in traditional way). In summer a festival with concert and exhibition of 500 persons.

Pupils come from all Slovakia and Bratislava to have workshops about herbs.

Our students first visited the traditional house with straw walls and roofs. The owner uses sun power station with electricity for the all buildings, and collect water.

Why do we need bees? Because essentially for reproduction of flowers, they visit some specific flowers. In Slovakia 600 different species exist. Wild bees, solitary bees which live in different environment like roof or parks or cities. Some insects look like bees but are not.

The mother is the biggest and live 5 years. You have in honey bees a real order of hierarchy and well organized. 80.000 can live in one hive. The responsible has presented wax. Small size holes are for workers and big are for male. The eggs put in small or big give workers or male babies. A good mother is important to manage the all group. There are different models of hives. People uses smoke because bees have in memories the danger of fire. When they smell it they prepare to leave the place and go away to find other location. At the end students went next to the bees which in winter stay in hives with enough foods to live in 30 degrees temperature. They had the privilege to taste 3 different honey. The final message: we need bees to keep biodiversity.

Students has discovered the positive point of bees: Pollination: the bees take flower dust (pollen)from other flower to other flower and when this thing happen the plant can make fruit and seeds for us to eat; and plenty trees can grow around us.

When we take good care of the bees you can get plenty good good things from them, like the honey.
